I recently lost more than 50 lbs of fat in a little over 4 months. During this time I learned several cool exercises and nutritional supplements that made the process much easier. I’m writing this article to share 3 of them with you. Two are stimulant-free (i.e. caffeine) nutritional supplements which have research to support their benefits. The other is an exercise that when done properly will help you lose weight, look amazing, and improve your endurance unlike any other I’ve done. I think that they can help you lose fat faster too.
1. Fish Oil
Shortly after I began taking a fish oil supplement I noticed its weight loss related benefits. The first was a decrease in my appetite. Cravings for sugar-rich and fatty foods diminished too. The most visible benefit is that my waist measurement decreased faster than when I wasn’t taking fish oil. Instead of losing about .5” a week I was losing 1” or more every week, without any other changes to my program.
I started off taking 3 grams a day and worked up to 6 grams which is the dose at which I received the most benefit. Studies show that at least 2-3 grams are required to achieve benefits and as with anything the dose you require may vary.
The fish oil supplement I use is Controlled Labs Oximega. Since it’s a concentrated fish oil supplement you will need to take fewer to get your daily dose than you will with other products.

3. Kettlebell Swings
This exercise has done more to help me burn calories and get back into shape than any other. It trains practically every muscle in your body so its a total body workout. Since they requires a lot of effort you’ll burn lots of calories too. Another benefit I notice from kettlebell swings is that they really helped improve my cardio fitness and ability to recover faster from and during my workouts.
When you are learning the kettlebell swing I recommend starting with a weight that’s light enough for you to perform 10 reps. Then do 3-5 sets of 5 swings. This will help you perfect your technique and learn to perform the with maximal effort. I did them 3-4 days a week at the start of each workout.
