Use The Best Creatine For Optimal Results

How I’ve Learned What Makes Creatine Supplement The Best

I’ve taken creatine supplements since the late ‘90s (yes, I’m that old). Over this time, I’ve probably tried at least 50 different products. Probably more. This includes the original EAS Phosphagen of the mid 1990s to creatine candies, liquid creatine, creatine HCL, and many, many others.

In this time, I’ve also read hundreds of studies on creatine supplements, written almost as many articles, consulted with sports scientists, sold dozens of brands online through our store, and spoken to lots of people like us who are taking it to build muscle, get stronger, and workout harder, longer.

All of this experimentation, research, writing, and observation has led me to know more than I ever thought I would about a single supplement. I continue to learn about it to this day since we’re still figuring out the many benefits of this supplement

Let me save you hundreds of hours of work I had to put into learning about creatine. All you have to do is read this article and you will know all you need to buy the best creatine.

The Five Things That Make A Creatine Supplement Great

  • Make Sure It’s Made In A GMP Certified Facility

When shopping for a product, you need to be assured that what you’re taking was produced in a manufacturing facility that’s tested and okayed by the government to be using the best, safest manufacturing processes.

One way to easily do this is to check and see if the company making the creatine you are interested in has their’s made in a GMP certified facility.

GMP stands for ‘Good Manufacturing Processes’. It’s a certification that’s overseen by the FDA and ensures that the product you are buying is made in a way that guarantees you’re getting what is on the label and will be that way whether you’re buying 1 or 100 bottles. Look at it as ‘what you see is what you get’ but in a good way.

If you don’t buy a creatine supplement for a GMP certified company, you have know idea whether every serving has the same amount. I’ve seen lab tests that should products containing 0 grams of creatine when it should be 5. This is obviously not good.

  • It Must Be Tested For Impurities

In addition to being made under GMP criteria, the company that makes your creatine should test it for impurities. You’re looking to take creatine, not creatinine – a worthless byproduct -, heavy metals, sugar, cellulose, or other ingredients.

Any supplement you’re considering should put this information on the product’s label or their website. You should also be able to contact the business for a copy of their lab reports that show their product is free of impurities.

  • You Must Get 100 Servings Per Container

The supplement you choose needs to last long enough for you to see its benefits and be worth the cost.

I’d personally not buy a product with less than 100 servings. Every serving must also have 5 grams of creatine. This is the right serving size and enough creatine to last 2-3 months. Even if you’re taking it every other day. This is enough time for you to see firsthand how well it works for you.

The easy way to check for this is to look on the ‘Supplement Facts’ section of a products label. Just look for the section that says servings and make sure there are at 100, 5 gram servings in the container.

  • Your Creatine Shouldn’t Have Any Other Ingredients

The only thing that should be in your creatine supplement is creatine. Don’t be fooled by companies that add BCAAs, glutamine, alpha lipoic acid, sugar, or other ingredients to the formulation.

These ingredients are going to help you see more benefits. All there likely to do is give you fewer servings of creatine overall and end up costing you more money.

  • Creatine Monohydrate Should Be The Only Type Used

I’ve saved the most important criteria for last. Any supplement you choose should only use creatine monohydrate. I know that companies promote their formulation as better but to date no other type has been shown to work better than creatine monohydrate powder.

So, if the supplement you’re considering uses liquid creatine, creatine HCL, creatine ethyl ester (CEE), or something else it’s not the best for you. It actually uses ingredients that aren’t likely to work as well as plain creatine monohydrate.

Studies find that creatine HCL, creatine ethyl ester (CEE), and liquid creatine don’t work at all. Many liquid creatines actually don’t even contain the creatine that they say is on the label.

Even if the supplement happens to be slightly better than creatine monohydrate – which I’ve never seen – it’s definitely going to be more expensive. The increase in cost doesn’t make it worth using what’s shown to consistently work well, creatine monohydrate.

The Best Creatine Supplement Is

My pick for the overall best creatine supplement is Creatine Edge. It’s also the one I take every day.

Creatine Edge meets each of the 5 criteria outlined in this article. Below is a brief overview for you to see for yourself.

  • Made in a GMP certified facilit

It’s made in the United States under GMP certification rules. This means that every container contains nothing but what’s on the label, creatine monohydrate. It also ensures that you get 5 grams from every serving like it says on the label.

  • Tested For Impurities

The contents of every canister of Creatine Edge is tested to ensure that it’s free of impurities or ineffective ingredients. All you get is 100% pure creatine monohydrate in every scoop.

  • 100 Servings Per Container

This is enough to last you 2-3 months. Many brands only sell you enough to last 3-4 weeks so you’ll spend more money reordering every month.

  • Doesn’t Contain Any Other Ingredients

Creatine Edge contains what works – creatine monohydrate powder – and nothing else. No sugars, amino acids, antioxidants, or other ingredients claiming to make it more effective. The latest research and the results achieved by thousands of people like you prove that none of them make it a better product.

  • Doesn’t Use Any Type Of ‘Designer’ Creatine

Many supplement companies try to sell you the latest type of creatine available, saying that it’s better than creatine monohydrate. Whether it’s liquid, effervescent, buffered creatine, or one of many other types, none of them are shown to be better. Oftentimes these other types of creatine aren’t shown to work at all. Some don’t even contain any creatine!
