Kettlebell Workout – Mike Mahler’s Time Saver

One of the best pieces of fitness equipment you can buy is a kettlebell. They’re relatively inexpensive, don’t require much room to use, and anyone can use them, regardless of your age or how long you have been working out. Another reason I love kettlebells and use them almost every time I train is that you can get in a great workout with them in very little time. We asked kettlebell expert and fitness author Mike Mahler for his favorite kettlebell exercise to do when this situation arises. Keep reading to learn which he recommends and how to get in an awesome workout that will get you into shape in just 15 minutes.

Mike’s Answer
My favorite kettlebell exercise when I am pressed for time is the Double Kettlebell Swing. I like to swing the bells outside the feet as you have more freedom of motion and can really load up the legs. This exercise also hits the trap muscles like nothing else. Another great thing about Double Kettlebell Swings is they are a full body exercise that works all of the posterior chain muscles (hamstrings, glutes, upper back, lower back, etc).

Do ten sets of ten Double Kettlebell Swings with 45-60 second breaks and you have a serious conditioning workout that will leave you winded like a hill sprint workout. Beginners should start with One-Arm Kettlebell Swings to get the technique down before progressing to Double KB Swings.
